Back in Maryland for the summer, I finally made it to Mary's Land Farm, which is one of the places I recommend to buy good lard from under the Resources tab.
It is a beautiful big farm... with a refurbished barn as their farm store. I bought a great organic chicken for dinner, a quart of organic lard and some habenero sausage they make from their pig.
Update: I baked the trial chicken I bought last night... and it was fantastic. Reminiscent of ones I used to get from Peg's Eggs, another Maryland farmer when my kids were young. Her eggs and chickens were fantastic. See www.motherlindas.com/eggs.htm. I will be back for more.
